Born and raised in Brooklyn New York, James Graham attended the High School of the Performing Arts, and latter the University of Arizona earning Kodak Scholarship. He was a creator of the Toole Shed Studios Artists co-operative and later became the founding director of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Tucson.
He now lives in Los Angeles with his wife, the sculptor Julia Latané, and exhibits art, mostly photography, and teaches 5th grade science.
