Sharon Lockhart is a visual and film artist living in Los Angeles. Since 1993, her work has been exhibited and screened at The Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago; Wako Gallery in Tokyo; The MAK-Austrian Museum of Applied Arts in Vienna; and New York's Barbara Gladstone Gallery, among other spaces. Lockhart’s latest film, Pine Flat, and accompanying photographs have been exhibited at the Sala Rekalde in Spain, and screened at the Sundance Film Festival (2006). Lockhart is the recipient of fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation (2001), the Rockefeller Foundation (2000), and the Asian Cultural Council (1996). She has been awarded residencies in Berlin and Stuttgart, Germany and Ibigari, Japan. She received her Master of Fine Arts degree from the College of Design in Pasadena.
